Motivated By Love

[ 0 ] September 11, 2012 |

I just love it when I hear pastors say, “Church, I need to talk to you.” They don’t say “the church” or “a church” but simply “church.” I am here today to say, “Church, I need to talk to you.”

September has begun and is rapidly zipping by and I know many churches are making plans for mission’s conventions, guest speakers, annual budgets and a host of other activities. In your planning, would you consider sending about a dozen of your folks overseas to serve with Rivers of the World (ROW)?

Your team could be involved in preaching the gospel, building a church, assisting with providing clean drinking water and simply showing compassion to hurting people in the name of Jesus. As you’re praying about this opportunity, pray too about inviting one of ROW’s staff members to come to your church and share the exciting news of the work that God is doing around the world through our ministry.

I also want to be included in your church bulletins and newsletters and I would like for you to consider adding ROW to your missionary budget. ROW is doing effective, efficient, evangelical and exciting things in the name of Jesus Christ in many remote corners of the world.

I am so very thankful for the continued prayers, financial support and ongoing material donations that ROW receives on a constant basis. I can say with the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 1:3 (Amplified):

“Recalling unceasingly before our God and Father your work energized by faith and service motivated by love and unwavering hope in [the return of] our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).”

I have found time and time again when I sacrifice my time, money, talents or resources to meet the needs of others my faith is certainly energized. Choose today to serve the Lord in some capacity and do so with the motivation of loving others in the name of Jesus.
