Never Too Late
There are moments in each of our lives that affect us so deeply, profoundly that our lives are forever changed.
Do you remember the first time you saw your spouse’s face? Do you recall where you were the first time you almost had an automobile accident? Can you remember the day your first child was born? Do you remember how the military veteran in your town was welcomed home from the war when he arrived back in the United States safe and sound? These certainly are all life changing moments.
When my friend, Britt, was in his mid-40s, he was walking through a village in Belize when a little girl came up and gave him an orange as a gift. Britt knew that the orange was all this girl had, so humbly, he gave it back to her. The little girl then cut the orange in half and again shared it with her new friend.
In that moment, Britt’s life was forever changed. He enrolled in medical school and at the age of 50, my friend has graduated and is about to begin his medical residency. Britt now serves as the medical director for Rivers of the World (ROW).
Let me encourage you to allow every moment Christ gives you to be a moment that changes your life for Him. We need to follow Solomon’s advice in Proverbs 27:1, which says:
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
We don’t have to travel to a foreign country like Britt to influence a person’s life for Christ or to experience a life changing moment. Find ways at work to dramatically change someone’s life. Search for opportunities daily to allow the Holy Spirit to use you to bring forth the truth about Jesus Christ. As you begin each day, realize it is another gift from God.
With each day comes new, exciting ways to know more of our Savior and to walk in His ways. Yield your life totally today to Jesus and vow to do His will, not yours, in every moment of this day.
