New Creation in Christ

[ 0 ] May 27, 2009 |

Oh, can’t you just smell the fragrant trees, fresh cut grass and the sweet scent of the flowers blooming? It is springtime in Dixie and everything is brand new. Spring in the South not only means everything is new, it also means everything is covered in yellow pollen. That’s okay because it is still that season where creation is fresh, new and vibrant.

Let me tell you about another thing that has sprung up quite beautifully. It is the newly updated Rivers of the World (ROW) web site. We call our webmaster the Wizard because he is just able to do so many amazing things with the ROW web site. The information provided enables our friends throughout America to stay current on our work around the world. Our web site also helps our friends located around the globe by providing valuable ministry resources that can help them as they serve the Lord in some of the world’s most remote river basins.

Today, I want to take time to thank the Wizard, above everything else, for just getting the job done. On a personal note, Paul, you are just amazing. God bless you! Let me invite everyone to take a moment and stop by the ROW web site, www.row.org, to see firsthand the wonderful work this talented man has done.

Regardless of what the weather may be like where you live, it really is spring so break out of your routine and comfort zone and try something new this season for the Lord. If you have accepted Christ as your Savior then you have been recreated to be like Him. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV):

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Christ doesn’t just renovate our lives and He doesn’t just repair our lives, but instead, Jesus completely makes us a new creation when we accept salvation. Our past is forgiven and forgotten by God, our present lives become aligned with Christ, we have a new desire to become more like Him, and our future is filled with so many exciting possibilities now that we are serving the Lord.
