No Place to Hide
Just because you cannot see something does not make it nonexistent. We may go to great lengths to deceive others into believing there is no sin in our lives. However, God is omnipresent, at all places at all times; He is omniscient, all-knowing; and He is omnipotent, all-powerful.
In Numbers 32:23 (KJV), it says in part:
“…behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”
While traveling in Zimbabwe with my wife, Mickie, we witnessed a funny example of trying to “hide from reality” in the animal kingdom. We were watching a herd of elephants. The one closest to us was huge and appeared to be nervous. He was anxious and shaking.
We observed as he slowly made his way toward us. He stopped near us between a leaf on one tree. The lone leaf covered one of this elephant’s eyes. He visibly became more relaxed. It was as if he was thinking, “Thank goodness, I’m hidden now.”
Too often, we are like this elephant. We try to hide our sins failing to realize that even though nobody is aware of our sins, God knows. Our sins may be as huge as this elephant, but God still love us.
Instead of trying to conceal our sins from the world and God, we should bow before Him, confess and repent of our sins and allow God’s love to wash us white as snow.
