Righteous Judge
Oh, goody, it’s political runoff season. Okay, I’m sorry, I really don’t mean to be cynical. I am sure many of you will be as glad as I will be when the elections are over and the TV ads and telephone calls cease.
I am constantly receiving calls and the messages on my answer machine are adding up. Most of the messages are, “Hang on for a very important message” or, “This is a special message for Ben Mathes.” They sound so sincere but none of them really care about how I’m doing. They merely want to inform me what they plan on accomplishing for me if I would only vote for them. They honestly don’t want to take the time to hear about my concerns and struggles.
Honestly, I really am trying to temper my response to every politician who calls me. They may not care about you or me, however, you can be certain that God knows all about our struggles even without us telling Him. As a matter of fact, He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, for us.
I can also guarantee you that God has seen what has taken place in America over the last four years. There is nothing good, nor anything evil, that goes unnoticed by God. We are assured according to Psalm 1:6 (Amplified):
“For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God's will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought).”
I would simply encourage you to exercise your right to vote in November. Regardless of the outcome during the general election, trust that we serve a righteous Judge, one who will bless His children and will eventually punish the wicked.
