She Is to Be Praised

Very few things in this world are as powerful as a group of Christian women. I need to exercise caution in telling you this, but there are certain communist nations around the world where it is illegal to be a Christian. Those nations all share a few things in common.

These communist nations celebrate Communist Worker’s Day, also known as International Worker’s Day, in May. People gather and celebrate the fact that they are communist, that they work and all strive as one for the good of their country.

A group of Christian women in one of these communist countries has discovered that this annual day of celebration is the ideal time for them to go to a hotel and rent a big meeting room. Under the pretext for having an International Worker’s Day celebration, these women have evangelistic worship services in the middle of a communist country that bans all forms of Christianity.

Today, as you come before the Lord in prayer, please remember these women. Pray for God to place a hedge of protection around them and their families. Pray too that the Lord would increase their boldness and courage as they continue to worship and serve Him, at all costs.

Although part of chapter 31 of the Book of Proverbs beautifully details the character of a noble wife, I believe some of these inspired words could apply to Christian women in general. In Proverbs 31:30 (Amplified) it says:

“Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain (because it is not lasting), but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!”

Let us take the time today to praise those Christian women in our lives who daily serve us, influence us and impact our lives with the power of Jesus Christ. Women are an integral part of the ministry of Rivers of the World (ROW). Some of these women serve prominently in the mission field and some serve behind the scenes, but all are important to this ministry.
