Steps to Success

[ 0 ] January 23, 2009 |

By the time you read this I will likely still be trying to recover from my recent trip to Tualabe, Honduras. I helped to unload a 40-foot container of medical equipment and supplies for our new clinic. When I finished all I could say was, “Does anybody know a good doctor!”

Up and down the steps, upstairs and downstairs, we carried medical equipment and supplies to outfit the new clinic in Tualabe. Once the clinic is finished we will be able to reach 58,000 people with healthcare and the Gospel in that part of central Honduras.

I just love it when plans and projects move forward. If we can accomplish a new medical clinic in this rural area of Honduras that will reach 58,000 people just think what we can do in America where resources are more readily available.

Sometimes we go to great lengths to plan a project and when it fails we often wonder why. The key to success in our plans and projects and our hopes and dreams is to include God in all we do and to never forget that ultimately He is in control. Our steps to success can be found in Proverbs 16:3, which says:

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

We have a part to play alongside God when planning our future. In Proverbs 16:9 we read:

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.”

Today, let me encourage you to prayerfully plan your future but do so with the understanding that the Lord will determine the outcome.
