Waiting For You
I’m pretty proud of myself. For almost a year now I have not bombarded people with pictures or stories about my grandson, Allen. I haven’t event adopted some silly grandfather name, even though I am indeed a grandpa!
My little grandson is the most perfect child in the whole wide world! Allen is just over nine months old and he recently stopped by to see me! You should have seen just how excited I was waiting in anticipation of seeing the little guy! Would you believe that I have already bought Allen his first hunting rifle? Yep, on the day he was born! It makes sense to me!
If I get this excited to see my little grandson, just imagine how excited God gets when His children come home after living apart from Christ? Imagine too how much joy Jesus has when His children awake in the morning and begin their day. He has an opportunity to communicate with us each day and to bestow His wonderful blessings upon us.
Better still, picture God in heaven as He welcomes each person into their eternal home after their journey on earth. As Christians, we should long for our Lord to say to us what the master spoke to his servants in Matthew 25:23 (NKJV):
“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”
We are not to hold tightly to our salvation and keep it hidden as a secret treasure. God has given us the blood of His Son Jesus, that washes us and cleanses us from all sins and He has provided the Holy Spirit to reside within us to enable us to stay connected to the Father. These gifts are to be shared with others so that they can also experience the joy of salvation and enter in to eternity with Christ.
