Wonder Working God
You’ve heard the saying, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well I might add if something is broke, then obviously you fix it and get it going again. This can apply to our nation’s economy, our country and even our lives. My friends, Jerry and Sherry just got back from seeing my friend, Jo, who was in a terrible automobile accident.
Jo broke both her legs and arms, her back, her neck and sustained internal injuries. Quite honestly, we didn’t think she was going to make it. She has and Jo recently invited Jerry and Sherry to stop by and see her to pray and to celebrate. Do you know what Jo did? She got herself up out of the hospital bed and with a walker, she walked across the room and back again. She was injured just 90 days ago. Jo is fixing what is wrong with her body and she is going to get on with life again.
I hope Jo’s determined comeback is as encouraging to you as it was to me. This is just another example of God’s goodness and the fact that He is working wonders all the time in our lives.
My prayer for you today is that you find hope and encouragement in reading Romans 8:28:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
This verse does not state that God only works good in our lives in certain situations. In everything that we face in this life, including depression, grief, disappointment and discouragement, Christ is using these for a greater good in our lives. Instead of succumbing to the emotions and feelings we experience during difficult times, we should kneel before the Lord and humbly ask Him what it is we are to learn from our trials. Trust the wonder working God to see you through every season of your life.
