What is the Alicia S. Hoover Educational Fund?

This fund was created by one of the ROW Trustees, Thomas Webb, as a memorial to Alicia S. Hoover, the daughter of the ROW Webmasters, Paul & Pam Tarver after she died on August 18th, 2001. The purpose of this fund is to raise money to buy school supplies for children all over the world. Alicia wanted to be a marine biologist and help others learn more about the oceans and rivers of our planet.

How do I Install the ROW ScreenSaver?

Running the downloaded program will unpack the program and install the screensaver into correct Windows folder.

How do I Un-install the ROW ScreenSaver?

Click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel'. Then double-click on the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. Scroll through the list until you find Rivers of the World Screensaver and then click 'Add/Remove'.

What are the system requirements?

Windows 95 or higher, 64Mb of RAM, SVGA video adapter and monitor.

Will the ROW ScreenSaver work with Windows XP?

Yes. The screen saver is compatible with Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT, WinXP, and Win2000.

How do I turn off the music?

Click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel'. Then double-click on the 'Display' icon. Next, click on the 'Screen Saver' tab and then click on 'Settings'. You will be presented with the Rivers of the World Screensaver window. Click the 'Settings' tab and you will have access to all the screen saver settings. Click the 'Mute All' button to turn off all sounds and music.

How do I change the display speed?

You can vary the time each photo is displayed on the screen as well as how fast one picture changes into another. To do so, click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel'. Then double-click on the 'Display' icon. Next, click on the 'Screen Saver' tab and then click on 'Settings'. You will be presented with the Rivers of the World Screensaver window. Click the 'Settings' tab and you will have access to all the screen saver settings.

Changing the "Image Transition Pause" time will affect how long a picture is displayed on the screen. Changing the "Transition Effects Speed" value will affect how fast one picture is replaced with another. You can check the "Move Images" box to make the pictures appear in different places on the screen each time. Checking the "Shuffle Images" box will tell the screen saver to display the pictures in a different order each time.

Can I change the order of the pictures?

Yes, you can have the pictures appear in a random order each time the screen saver is displayed.

To do so, click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Control Panel'. Then double-click on the 'Display' icon. Next, click on the 'Screen Saver' tab and then click on 'Settings'. You will be presented with the Rivers of the World Screensaver window. Click the 'Settings' tab and you will have access to all the screen saver settings. Checking the "Shuffle Images" box will tell the screen saver to display the pictures in a different order each time.
